Happy Birthday Memere!

We had a fun little birthday dinner for my mom last weekend. It was fun to have some family over to play in the kiddie pool and eat cake!

We got a few great pictures of Memere with all her grandbabies!
Jemma was a happy camper hanging out with the birthday girl. Arlene and Hal, Stephen and Mariah were also there, but they avoided the camera.

Julie and Andy wrapped some gifts that they made for Mom. They included cool things made with melty beads and a necklace Julie made. They also took a 10 dollar bill out of their bank and wrapped it up. This is mom laughing at the gesture. They couldn't understand what was so funny, saying, "We always get birthday money!"

Happy Birthday Memere! Hope your day was grand. We love you!

Happy Father's Day

When I asked John what he wanted to do for Father's Day, he quickly said he wanted to go to "Hazards" It is somewhere he loved going with his dad as a kid and loves taking our kids every chance he can. It was a great day and all of my kids (yes, I am counting John for this one) had a great time adventuring.

I was so grateful they stopped long enough for this sweet picture!
Julie and Andy found this alcove and couldn't wait for John to climb up into it with them. They called it their "sand couch".
We found some cool sea life in the tide pools. Andy was most interested in the creatures and climbing over the rocks. The girls took the opportunity to make sand castles. It was a win win.
Then it was time for jumping. Julie was really brave and jumped the first time. Then she jumped over and over and over again!
Then it was Daddy's turn to jump!  He was very serious about it.
Andy, as usual, was less than serious. He was not too into jumping but had fun surfing down the dunes on his belly!
So Happy Father's Day Daddy! We love you and had a great day with you. We are all so grateful and fortunate to have you in our lives!

Kindergarten Graduation

Yesterday was the last day of school for the big kids. What a difference a year makes. They have both grown so much in the last 10 months. Here is a side by side of the first day of school and the last day of school. Huge difference! And much shaggier hair!

Andy had his kindergarten graduation yesterday. He loved going through the tunnel of big kids. It s a tradition at the school, the transition to the big kid playground. I think the big kids love it just as much as the kindergartners. Not many schools involve all the classes in the kindergarten graduation.
Andy looked so handsome in his graduation cap.
Mrs Lee asked each student what his favorite part of kindergarten was. Andy said, "Learning about whales"
Julie was excited she got to come watch the graduation, but I think she was even more excited about getting to hold Jemma during the announcements!
She and Andy were both excited to see Auntie Audrey and their cousins! We were all sad though that Memere wasn't feeling well, so she couldn't make it.

Andy and Lauren would barely stop eating their watermelon for a picture. You can tell though how happy Andy is!
And he obliged momentarily for a picture with Grammy and Pop-pop!
He also posed with his sweet friend Taylor.  They have become great friends and he has already asked many times if they could spend time together over the summer.
We are so proud of our big man. He did great in kindergarten and we can't wait to see how he flies in 1st grade!  I can't even believe we have a 1st and 2nd grader!!

After the graduation, we took Andy for something he has wanted for months....a mohawk!! Now he is officially ready for summer!
