From Rag-a-muffin to Cute as a Button!

Lately we have been having a hard time doing Julie's hair. By hard time, I mean I could not get a comb through it! No matter how much I washed it, conditioned, de-tangled, it was still full of peanut butter, apple sauce, ketchup....

So, we decided to get it cut. We went to a place called "Kids Cuts" in Paso, where they have toys and all the props to keep a kid busy while getting a hair cut.

There were 2 boys ahead of us, so Julie watched them intently and when it was time for her to get in the chair, she said, "my turn!" and climbed on up.

She did so well, didn't fuss or get upset. She said "owie" every time she saw the scissors, but other than that, she was happy. And I am so happy with how it turned out! I know it will be a lot easier on all of us. Before:
See how she is trying to get her finger out of it, and is having no luck! This is how it is all the time. And she had her hair in pigtails all day, I had taken it down just a few minutes before, and it was still this tangled. Here is the after, I wish I had a better picture, but you will see plenty as I take more!

These were from this morning. You can see the cut a little better in these. And, it took 2 seconds to brush it, clip it and she was off like a shot!

Thank you Pop-pop!

For the best potty stool ever!
Julie needed a stool to use in the bathroom because she is a big girl now and does most of her "business" in the potty! She has had very few unsuccessful attempts and we are thrilled with how well she is doing!

A Tooth!

Andy has a tooth! Hooray! He is having steak for dinner tomorrow...just kidding. But his bottom front tooth did poke through this evening, it was not there when we went to the Dr this morning.

He had his 6 month well check this morning, and the Dr said he was doing very well! He is up to almost 18 pounds (up 2 lbs from his 4 month apt and in the 79th percentile) and is 28.5 inches long (grew 2 inches in 2 months! That is amazing! 95th percentile on that one). He is such a great boy and the Dr couldn't agree more!

In Julie news, she learned to ride her bike! She can pedal now, we went all the way down to see the goat yesterday. She is doing really well with it even though her legs are not quite long enough and she has to practically stand up to pedal, she still does it.

They are growing up so fast!! :)

6 Months Already?!?!?!

My little man is 6 months old today! We celebrated by going to the park and playing in the swings, and eating some banana....woohoo! Some things that he does:
  • roll around
  • life his head and chest up off the ground
  • tries to get up onto his toes while pushing up
  • can make the "da" sound
  • giggle like crazy
  • eats rice cereal and peas (and banana on special occasions)
  • acts silly
  • gets very serious when he is eating

He is such a sweet little boy. He watches everyone, Julie especially, but he also loves Poppy and Copper. He is a couch potato, in that he will watch TV for minutes at a time, which is a long time to pay attention at that age. He is smiling when I go in to get him out of bed in the morning and he whines in between every bite like we are going to starve him. I love my little man!

St Patty's and Stuff

All sorts of fun things have been happening around the Hunter house...first off, Happy St Patrick's Day! We went to a party at Julie's school, so cute! They had green eggs and ham. It was so fun to watch her interact with her teachers and friends. She is such a big girl! When we got home we took pictures of them in their cute St Patty's Day outfits. Look how much Andy loves his sister!

In other Julie news, she used the potty 3 times today! Hooray! She is getting so good.

Andy was feeling festive in his own way today, he ate some peas! There was green everywhere. He has been eating rice cereal once a day for about a week and loving it, so we moved on to peas, and he is one happy boy. I can't believe he is almost 6 months old!

Julie this morning:

Julie: "Brother tooted! Julie toot too!"

Me: "Does Daddy toot too?"

Julie (nodding head): "Daddy toots all day!!!"

Ha Ha...she knows her daddy!

Did you miss me?

I have not given you any Hunter Love for over a week! Amazing. The even more amazing thing is...I have had nothing to blog about! That's right, nothing has happened in the last week that I felt, wow, the world needs to know. And I think it was the first time in MONTHS!!

And, still nothing amazing has happened, but we did find an awesome score at a yard sale yesterday, so I have to share.

Julie is in love with it. She keeps wanting "Anabelle gymnastics at Julie's home!!!" She wants Anabelle to come play so bad. The tent was actually a christmas present last year that happens to fit perfectly onto one of the tubes! So cool!

Brother likes it too! (by the way, that is what Julie calls Andy all the time, so that is what I call Andy...kinda embarrassing when someone asks you his name and you reply "Brother")
