Happy Birthday John!

Yesterday we had a little birthday for John. We had all the family there to celebrate.
Julie and I made a cake for John. She said "Make it blue with circles!" So that is what he got. And she was very happy to help him blow them out.
I like this picture of Julie. She was having so much fun playing on her swing set with Charlie (the dog).
Julie after making Daddy's cake.
This was this morning. Andy got ahold of a bag of chips, drug them into the hallway and proceeded to eat. Look how proud he looks.
So, happy birthday John. It was pretty mellow, but we will have a full week as we leave tomorrow for Bess's wedding. Hooray!

10 Months...Wow!

Check Spelling
I can't believe Andy is 10 months old! He is turning into such a little boy. He can crawl at full speed, down the hallway, all over the house. He loves to get into his sisters closet, her toys, anything she is playing with. He is already fulfilling his little brother duties of driving her crazy!

Andy is a big eater, he will pretty much eat anything you put in front of him. His 3rd tooth just broke through, on the bottom, so none on top yet. He is making the "dada" sounds and sometimes when he waves hello, it sounds like he says "hi" but I wouldn't call them official words yet.

He is standing up on everything, but not quite ready to walk. He lets go, but is still really wobbly. I think it is only just a matter of time.

Raindrops on Roses.....

I have a few things around the house right now that are making my week happy and special. I don't know why I feel I need to blog about this, but I do, so here it goes.

Yellow Roses from a sweet friend. They are reminding me how much I am loved and spoiled. They are reminding me how important friendship is. It is also reminding me how much I love yellow roses and the way they look in my red kitchen.

The new backpack my hubby got me for our trip to Philadelphia next week! I can't wait to go, but I really can't wait for a reason to use my super cute backpack! The butterfly Julie made at school. Then, when she got home, we taped it to her door. It is at knee level.

I have had these for a while, but this is the first chance I have had to blog about them. They were made for me by my super talented friend Jenny. It is a little hard to see, and I am sure she could have taken a better picture, but they are the "Hunter Family Cupcakes!" The big blue one is for John, the little pink one is Julie, the little blue one is Andy and I am the white one. I love mine the best because it has purple sprinkles, but it also has the sprinkles of all the other cupcake colors. And, of course, they all have cherries on top! When Jenny gave this to me, it was the day Memere passed away. And I cried. And I love it.

Jenny also made this. I love it almost as much as my cupcakes, but in a different way. Mostly because it is just beautiful.

So those are a few of my favorite things. Just because I felt like sharing.

Engagement Party

I was so excited when Christina asked me to be her co-maid of honor. And I got to step into my role right away! We had an engagement party last night. It was a lot of fun. There were about 30 guests, both friends and family.

I am so lucky to have so much help around me. Kayla and John were such good sports taking orders all morning. The party came together without a hitch. All the stuff getting ready to go out to the party.
Limes...lots of limes. I used them as the on the tables, so today, Kayla and I made limeade. It was really good.

My backyard looked so clean and pretty.

So festive.
Two kids came to the party. Brenden is 3 1/2 and Cace was just 9 days older than Andy. Brenden was asleep when they arrived, so I told his parents that they could put him down in Julies bed. She was very confused about this. At one point, she came running out to me and said "Mommy! There is a boy in my bed!!!" Both John and I were very relieved she was so concerned by this.

The party

Chris and John did an amazing job at the barbecue. Andy enjoyed hanging out with the boys.
Brian and Darby (the best man).

The happy couple.
Me and one of my best friends in the whole world.

More party guests.
And this is my pride. I was so excited with the way the dessert turned out. Yummo! They are fruit tartlets with cream cheese spread. Mmmmm.

All and all, I think it was a great night. The food was amazing, everyone pitched in and it all came together. I can't wait for all the other wedding celebrations. This was a great kick off! Oh, and Christina....anytime. :)

My Men

This is my favorite picture today! In case you can't read their shirts, John's says "Me" and Andy's says "Mini Me." They wore them to the zoo this weekend. LOVE IT!!

Celebrations

Our 4th of July weekend started out with a BBQ at Justin and Audrey's house. All of Audrey's family was here from all over, including her nephew Jackson. Julie was in HEAVEN playing with Jackson and Poppy. What a great cousin! I love this boy!
Andy was so happy! He was hanging out in his seat, talking to everyone and bouncing all around. Hugs for Jackson!

This morning we went to the parade and festivities in Santa Margarita. It was Aunt Arlene's birthday so we were so lucky she spent the day with us. The parade was small, but very fun. Julie had so much fun waiving a flag and clapping and waiving.
The group.
I tried to flip the picture, but no luck, but I like it, so you get it as is.

Ok....could I get ONE person to look at the camera?
What a great buddy! Kay hung out with us all day and we had so much fun!
Me and my girl.
The family.
Julie played a great game where she had to eat a donut on a string without using her hands. It was very amusing.
